SPECIAL events at Banbury Museum over the Easter holidays include: Light & Optics - an interactive science exhibition at which visitors can experiment with lenses and lasers, and lightning. and luminosity.

Art Cart: Show Your True Colours - visitors can create hand lenses and mix colours in an instant and try out the museum's optical illusion.

Funny Bunny's Easter Prize Trail - a hide and seek event for children to find those eggs, name objects, and solve a puzzle to win prizes.

All the above are up and running and stay open until April 15.

Other events are Destination Imagination (for ages 9-12) on April 10 and 11, from 10am to 4pm, costing £40 for the two days. The fee includes professional tuition, workshop materials, and souvenir DVD.

The package sees animator David Bunting helping participants use animation and filmmaking to make your dreams come real.

Places are limited and should be booked in advance through the Animation Station by telephoning 01295 221700. Participants should take packed lunches.

Zany Zoetrope - April 11, 10am to noon, cost £2.50. Children can drop in to make and take home a toy that produces the illusion of movement.

Up Periscope - April 13, 10am to noon, cost £2.50. Another make and take home a toy event, for ages 5 plus.

Bygone Banbury I1 Exhibition - 21 April 21 to June 17. The best historical paintings and prints of scenes in and around the town, complemented by historical photographs from the National Monuments Record, the public archive of English Heritage, and paintings recently added to the museum's own collections.
