A NEW pedestrian crossing is to be built on Orchard Way, Banbury, near the Woodgreen roundabout.
The work will take place during the school Easter holidays.
Oxfordshire County Council says traffic delays should be minimal, but Orchard Way will be closed between 9.30am and 4.30pm on April 11 and 12 for resurfacing work.
A diversion route will be signposted.
David Robertson, the council's executive member for transport, said: "It was common sense to do this job during the school holidays to minimise disruption to traffic.
"The outcome will be a facility that local people have wanted, and should certainly improve safety in the area.
"Any damage to grass verges caused by the storage of materials will be fully repaired and the crossing should be in operation by mid April."
