LAP-dancing club Cassiopeia, the first in Oxfordshire, opened in Banbury last Thursday.
Brackley businessman Ashley Brown spent nearly six months converting the former Churchill's nightspot premises in Broad Street into a club which features striptease, pole dancing, and rooms where strippers can dance naked for clients.
In June, when permission for the club was granted by Cherwell District Council, Mr Brown said: "This sort of thing may have had a sleazy, dark-ages reputation, but the industry has moved forward under strict guidelines and these days it is far removed from the image it had some years ago."
No objections to the club were received before planning permission was agreed.
