BANBURY mayor John Donaldson has thanked the hundreds of local people, organisations, and businesses who supported the town's annual toy appeal, which provides Christmas presents for less well off families.
Toys and gifts, suitable for all ages, were donated for distribution to family centres and directly to parents.
For the first time in the appeal's 17-year history, family centres and parents were invited to the town hall to select presents.
Previously the toys had all gone to the Britannia Road Family Centre for distribution.
Mr Donaldson said: "The new system worked well and I want to thank everyone who helped bring joy and happiness to local needy families.
"Particular thanks must go to Norbar for sponsoring the event."
