A SCOUT group at Heyford Park will meet for the first time in the New Year.
An opening evening last week at the former RAF air base demonstrated a need for the facility, and the group will meet in the activities centre - Building 549 - which is already home to Cubs and Beavers.
The North Oxfordshire Consortium, owners and operators of the site, agreed that the building could be used by the group, and the open evening gave parents and children an opportunity to meet the Scout leaders.
Consortium chief executive Keith Watson said: "Heyford Park is a vibrant place, and it's important to involve young people. The Heyford Park Scout group will be a welcome addition to our community."
To join, call 07970145089/01869 233383 or email heyfordscouts@ btinternet.com The group is set for its opening night on January 15 and will run every Monday, 8pm to 10pm.
