Australian Open champion Roger Federer thanked fans for a warm welcome in his native Switzerland after returning with ‘Norman’.
The 36-year-old won his 20th singles grand slam title in Melbourne on Sunday and lifted the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup after a five-set win over Marin Cilic.
And the Swiss took the silverware home where he was met by hoards of fans.
Since winning the title, Federer has shared a series of photos on his Twitter account of his antics with ‘Norman’, including a snap of the trophy in the boot of his car and out in the Melbourne sunshine.
However, the evergreen player looks set to enjoy some well-earned rest after his marathon exploits in the Australian heat.
Federer has won the Australian Open singles title six times.
