Winger Pip Seymour scored four tries as Chinnor got off to a flying start in National 3 South West with a 50-15 win at Chippenham.

He crossed the Chippenham line twice in the first half, before completing his four-timer with a brace in the last four minutes.

Centre Sam Stoop also scored a try in the opening 40 minutes, which ended with Chinnor leading 28-8.

Full back Mark Chase and winger Ben Farr added further tries after the break, while fly half James Cathcart kicked three penatlies and three conversions.

Chippenham replied with tries from John Turner and Fraser Clilverd, while Richard Taylor landed a penalty and a conversion.

Oxford Harlequins made a disastrous start with a 53-7 battering at Bournemouth.

Fly half Dan Pollard kicked a penalty to set Bournemouth on the way, and they crossed the Quins line for the first time when No 8 Gavin Hart drove over for a try. Pollard converted to make it 10-0.

Quins then conceded three tries in seven minutes with Dan Connolly, Hart again and Scott Chislett breaching the visitors’ defence, Pollard converting the last two to make it 29-0.

Ben Stewart went over for Bournemouth’s fifth try to make it 34-0 at the break.

Quins reshuffled the back division for the second half, with centre Anthony Cope moving to scrum half, full back Harry Warman switching to centre, and Dominic Coe coming in at full back.

And it was against the run of play that Connolly added his second try, converted by Pollard to make it 41-0.

However, Quins scored the try of the game, with centre Martin Nutt scything through the home defence and under the posts. Fly half Alex Stevenson converted.

Sam Hardcastle and Anthony Dunkerley scored late tries for Bournemouth, with Pollard converted the former, to complete the rout.
