CHINNOR were unable to finish their campaign on a high note as they were beaten 17-10 at home by Plymouth Albion.
The Thame-based side had hoped to arrest their six-game winless run.
But they were left to settle for a losing bonus point as they finished tenth in National League 1.
Plymouth opened the scoring when Sam Daly crashed over for an unconverted try.
But Chinnor cut the deficit to 5-3 at the break, thanks to Caolan Ryan’s penalty.
The hosts immediately went on the attack in the second period and Kieran Goss dived over, Ryan converting, to make it 10-5.
However, Chinnor continuously conceded penalties, which allowed Albion to make up ground.
Two tries in five minutes from Dan Powell and Herbie Stupple, Dan Mugford converting the latter, saw the visitors go 17-10 up.
Chinnor launched a late fightback, but they were unable to get over the line.
