CONNOR Hull proved untouchable for the second month in a row as he dominated proceedings in February to take over at the top of the points leaderboard.

The Oxford Mail have been compiling league statistics from clubs who submit match reports and can reveal the standings for overall points, tries scored and points kicked.

There were a reduced number of league fixtures last month due to free weeks and cup ties.

But that did not stop Grove centre Hull racking up an impressive 79 points across two matches in Southern Counties South.

He finished top of the overall standings and try-count for February, while he edged the kicking king competition by eight points from Henley Hawks fly-half Ben Bolster.

That has also had an impact on the overall 2018/19 standings.

Hull’s haul has seen him overtake Banbury scrum-half Ed Phillips and open up a slender two-point lead.

Chipping Norton did not play a single league game in February and it has impacted on the their impressive half-backs Dan Lightfoot and Matty Wheeler.

Lightfoot is now 24 points behind Hull in the overall standings and trails Phillips by seven in the kicking king competition.

Such has been Wheeler’s form this season that he still tops the try-scoring leaderboard with 22, but Chinnor star Craig Holland has bridged the gap to two heading into March.
