THE Swan A’s march up the Oxford & District Premier table continued with a 3-0 win over The George A.

The victory, their fourth in a row, put them just four points behind leaders The Black Prince with a game in hand.

Keith Powell (4-6-3) and Lee Thompson (4-4-5) led the way as they won all three legs 24-20, 30-24, 24-15, while Kevin Stuart also hit a baker’s dozen (5-4-4) for The George.

It came as The Black Prince dropped a vital point at The Ampleforth Arms A – and it could have been worse.

They recovered from a 26-24 defeat in the opening leg to win the next one 25-24, before taking the decider 27-23.

Roger Goodall (3-5-5) and Mick Phipps (4-4-5) claimed a 13-doll haul for The Prince.

Gladiators A could only beat Garsington Sports 2-1 as their title hopes were extinguished.

They set and won the opening leg 25-24, before losing the second 25-21.

Gladiators took the decider 22-19 as Kevin Giles at last showed his true form with 13 dolls (5-3-5).

In Section Two, Gladiators B claimed a shock 2-1 win over leaders Red Lion B Kidlington.

The table-toppers triumphed 18-16 in the opening leg, but Glads turned the tables with scores of 20-15 and 22-15.

Donnington A were unlucky to lose 3-0 to Vikings A, going down 25-19 in the first leg thanks to Darren Trinder’s six.

Donnington anchor Steve Walton needed five and six to tie the second and third legs respectively, but fell one short both times on his way to a baker’s dozen.
