BEN Green achieved the highest score of his career as he clanged off 13 dolls (5-4-4) for The Chequers B against The Six Bells D.
It was to no avail, though, as the visitors hit 28 in the final leg to beat their opponents’ 20 and win 2-1.
The Six Bells are in a three-way share of the lead with Six Bells A Kidlington and Queens Head at the top of Oxford & District Section Two.
The weather played havoc in week seven, with not one maximum six recorded across the board for the first time in many seasons.
Six Bells A Kidlington stayed joint top thanks to a hard-fought victory against The Seacourt Bridge.
After shooting into a 2-0 lead, Seacourt anchor man Mark Tilling whipped the four dolls needed to level at 20-20 in the final leg and take it to three sticks.
Six Bells came through it, though, sealing maximum points.
Donnington A tasted victory for the first time this season, winning 2-1 at Gladiators B.
Elsewhere, The Black Prince remain the only unbeaten team in the Premier Section after they defeated The George A 3-0.
Phil Austin starred for the hosts with 13 dolls (5-3-5).
George set all three legs, hitting 24 in the first two only for Prince to reach 27 and 26 in reply – anchor man Mick Phipps clanging off five dolls in the second.
The whitewash was completed by a 25-21 triumph in the final leg.
Ampleforth Arms A and Garsington Sports clashed in a meeting of two teams yet to triumph.
The latter got off the mark with a 3-0 win, leaving The Amp as one of only two sides in the league still seeking a victory.
Garsington claimed the first two legs 19-15, 20-17 and had to rely on a three-stick shoot-out to take the final leg after it was tied 17-17.
