JOE Iaciofano and Jacob Bancroft each scored twice to book Oxford City’s place in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup final with a 4-1 victory over North Leigh.

It sets up a showdown against Oxford United on Tuesday, May 3, where the Vanarama National League South side will seek to win the trophy for the third time in a row.

Both teams found the net inside the first seven minutes as Jefferson Louis equalised following Iaciofano's first goal of the evening.

The latter edged City ahead early in the second half after some heroic goalkeeping from Millers stopper Adam North kept the scores level, with Bancroft making it 3-1 moments later.

And the former Stevenage striker struck again late on to give the Vanarama National League South side victory at Court Place Farm.

Iaciofano gave the higher-division side the perfect start when he opened the scoring after five minutes, dispatching from inside the penalty area after the ball fell loose.

But ex-United striker Louis quickly restored parity, firing home from outside the box after Aaron Heap did well to win possession.

City had more chances but North Leigh held their own, although they were thankful to North for pushing Iaciofano’s effort behind midway through the half.

The stopper came out on top in his next duel with the striker, thwarting his opponent one-on-one with George Harmon unable to convert the rebound.

North performed more heroics early in the second half when he tipped Harry Kyprianou’s header on to the crossbar, but he was soon beaten twice in quick succession.

This time Iaciofano gave the goalkeeper no chance, curling a delicious effort into the net after good work from Harmon on the left wing.

City stunned the Pitching In Southern League Division 1 Central outfit to give themselves breathing space moments later, Bancroft converting from close range to finish a counter-attack.

Ross Jenkins’ men kept coming and always threatened a fourth goal, which came with five minutes remaining.

Bancroft showed the quality that earned him a move to Sky Bet League Two side Stevenage last January, beating Andy Gunn for pace before firing low into the corner.

Elsewhere, North Leigh's Division 1 Central counterparts Wantage Town went down 3-1 at home to Waltham Abbey.

The Alfredians stay bottom of the table after the defeat, which stretched their winless run to eight matches.

Jamal Branker put Wantage ahead midway through the first half, only for the visitors to score three unanswered goals in the first 17 minutes of the second period.
