TWO late bogeys proved costly as Eddie Pepperell missed the cut at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
The Abingdon golfer returned to an event he won four years ago, but fell two shots short of making the weekend.
Pepperell started well on day one, as bogeys at the third and ninth holes sandwiched three successive birdies.
The Frilford Heath member’s round unravelled with three more dropped shots on the back nine, although a birdie at the 18th saw him finish the day one-over par.
Pepperell picked up a shot at the same hole on day two after starting at the tenth.
It would have been enough to make the weekend, but bogeys at the second and eighth ruined his chances.
