OXFORD City Stars were outclassed by NIHL Division 1 South leaders Streatham as they went down 7-0 at Oxpens.

The visitors had won 15 of their 17 league matches, so it was no surprise to see them immediately take the initiative.

Thomas Beesley put Streatham ahead after 41 seconds and it did not get much better for Stars as Danny Ingoldsby, Samuel Waller and Ryan Watt stretched the lead to 4-0 by the end of the first period.

Dean Birrell responded by replacing Ross Miller with Matt Croyle in net and the replacement produced a string of saves.

Stars only conceded once in the second 20 minutes, Michael Farn scoring.

But Ingoldsby struck twice more in the final period to complete his hat-trick.

Stars are next in action at home to Chelmsford Chieftains next Sunday.
