OXFORD United Women chalked up an 11th successive home win as they continued their perfect record at Court Place Farm against Chichester & Selsey.

Sarah King, Carly Johns and Beth Lumsden were on target as the U’s triumphed 3-0 in FA Women’s National League Southern Premier.

United stay second in the table, just six points behind leaders Ipswich Town with a game in hand.

Chichester occupy the penultimate position in Southern Premier, but began sharpest and forced the U’s to improve on a scrappy start.

Johns should have put United ahead when she was sent through one-on-one, only for Sadie Blakely to make the save and win the duel.

The hosts eventually took the lead nine minutes before the break, Emily Wallace claiming her third assist in two matches as she crossed for King to beat the goalkeeper.

The U’s were 2-0 up by the time the half-time whistle went, Johns making the most of her second chance.

Captain Lauren Haynes split the visiting defence with an excellent pass and the forward calmly slid the ball past Blakely.

United remained in control without threatening a third – until Lumsden produced her customary magic moment.

The top-scorer took possession a long way out and advanced towards goal, before picking out the far corner for her 17th of the season.

United have won eight home games out of eight in Southern Premier, plus three National League Cup matches at Court Place Farm.
