BANBURY United made it six wins in a row as they beat Bishops Cleeve 2-0 in Division 1 South & West.
Mike Ford’s men stayed fourth and comfortably inside the Evo-Stik Southern League play-off positions as a result.
Felipe Barcelos went close early on for the Puritans against mid-table Cleeve, shooting straight at goalkeeper Sam Gilder.
Zac McEachran and Mark Bell then fired wide as the conditions deteriorated in the heavy rain.
But Banbury took a deserved lead on 38 minutes when Jack Westbrook slid the ball into the back of the net at the far post from Bell’s free-kick.
After the break top-scorer Ricky Johnson shot straight at Gilder, while Cleeve’s Jordan Bryan fired just wide.
The Puritans added a second when Barcelos stroked home Callum White’s cross on 58 minutes for his first goal since signing for the Puritans at the beginning of January.
Cleeve’s Aaron Drake hit the bar, but Banbury were comfortable.
Banbury Utd: Harding, White, Hopkins, Nash, Westbrook, Gunn, McEachran (Browne 66), Stanbridge (DMartin 79), Johnson, Barcelos (Howards 71), Bell. Subs not used: Steedman, Wise.
Attendance: 127.
