JAMIE Guy says that he has come to Oxford United to let his football do the talking.

The striker was banned from driving last week after being charged with drink driving, driving without insurance and driving without the appropriate licence.

But Guy wants to put all of his bad press behind him and focus on the job in hand - getting United promotion.

"I've had a few problems off the field which have been well documented," he said.

"But I have come to Oxford to concentrate on my football - it's a fresh start for me.

"I came down here on Tuesday to have a look around, because I had a few offers from other clubs, but was very impressed with the set-up - Colchester haven't even got a training ground.

"I want to score goals and help Oxford get promoted and achieve that.

"I have kept fit during the summer - I was given a fitness programme by Colchester and have stuck to that."
