KARL Robinson has agreed a new contract which will keep him at Oxford United until 2022.

The head coach's previous deal, signed in March 2018, was due to expire next summer.

There are some formalities outstanding, but once they are completed it will see Robinson stay for another three seasons.

The former MK Dons boss left Charlton Athletic to join the U's, who held an exhaustive recruitment process to find Pep Clotet's successor.

He steered them away from relegation trouble in his first ten games to finish 16th in Sky Bet League One.

And despite a long battle against the drop last season, the U's rallied to end the campaign 12th.
