OXFORD United’s struggles this season are a mystery to Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett.

Pompey visit the Kassam Stadium tomorrow as Sky Bet League One leaders, having accrued 30 points more than their hosts so far.

That deficit was helped by the reverse fixture at Fratton Park in August, which they won 4-1.

Jackett told The News: “We’ve obviously played them at Fratton Park and, for the second time through, I would suggest most sides know a lot about each other

“I have seen Oxford on a couple of occasions as well, evenings when we haven’t been playing.

“They’ve got some very good players, I think they’ve got a lot of talent there and will be pushing hard to keep themselves away from the relegation battle.

“What the story is for them, I’m not sure, but they are are a very capable team with a capable manager, and will be looking really hard to maintain their status in this division, I’m sure.”

The visitors’ squad will not include one former U’s player, who departed yesterday.

Midfielder Danny Rose, who has made just five appearances this season, left by mutual consent and signed for Swindon Town.

Winger Andre Green has also been recalled by Aston Villa.
