JACK Stevens and Malachi Napa have been loaned out by Oxford United to sides in the Vanarama National League South.

Goalkeeper Stevens has joined Oxford City until January, while winger Napa moves to Hampton & Richmond Borough for an initial one-month stint.

The 20-year-old is expected to come straight into the side for Saturday's Vanarama National League South clash at home to Welling United.

His arrival has seen Craig Hill leave the club, with his final appearance coming in the 7-1 defeat at Dartford last weekend.

United always planned to loan out Stevens, who has not made a senior appearance for his parent club, but spent the first half of last season at City.

He finished the last campaign as back-up to Simon Eastwood, but the U's brought in the experienced Scott Shearer this summer to free up Stevens to clock up more playing time.

United manager Pep Clotet said: "I think it’s good for us because him being young he needs a lot of game time.

"He can work with Oxford City and he’s close to us so he can train with us.

"It’s a good opportunity for him and them."
