ROGER Goodall and Alan Goodgame were in top form as Six Bells C Kidlington came from behind to beat Gladiators A 2-1 in a high-scoring contest, writes ANDY BEAL.

Gladiators made a fast start, winning the opening leg of the Premier & Section 1 clash 35-29.

But Goodall (5-5-4) and Goodgame (4-4-5) led the fightback, as the Premier side edged the second leg 27-25 and won the decider 35-26.

Jeff Glenister clanged off 14 dolls (4-6-4) to inspire The Griffin to a comfortable 3-0 win at The Woodman Inn in Section 2.

They won 22-16, 21-14, 23-18 to move third in the table.

Red Lion B Eynsham went second after winning 2-1 against Ampleforth Arms.

The opening leg was tied 21-21, which Ampleforth won on three sticks, before Red Lion took the next two legs – Simon King top- scoring with 13 dolls (5-4-4).

Cowley Workers lost to Six Bells Quarry despite scoring more dolls than their opponents.

Steve Brandon whipped off the winning doll with his final stick to win the first leg and Six Bells made sure of the points by taking the second leg, before the Workers won the third.

Lewis Johnson bagged a six in a 13 doll haul (6-3-4) as Garsington Sports B won 3-0 at home to Donnington Club A in Section 4.

Mick Jessop’s highest score of the season (5-6-2) led Kidlington Sports Club B to a 2-1 win over the Democrats Club.

Kennington Club’s Richard Butler claimed a first ever six in his 11 dolls as Seacourt Bridge were beaten 2-1 to go equal top.

Just one doll separated the sides in Section 5 as Chequers beat Vikings Sports C.

The second and third legs were tied, but Chequers took both on three sticks to win 2-1.

After 20 years of trying Mike Dandridge finally hit a maximum six as Red Lion Islip came away from Northway Club A with all three points in Section 7.

Philip Adams clanged off 13 dolls, but it was in vain as Cricketers A went down 2-1 at home to in-form Nut Tree.

Monty Morgan’s 13 dolls was more fortunate for Golden Ball B, who edged past Red Lion C Eynsham 2-1 in a tight contest.

All three legs were tied when Fairview Inn B met Crooked Pot in Section 8.

Fairview eventually came out on top, winning 2-1.

Section 9 leaders Crown Chalgrove suffered only their second defeat of the season as The Jolly Postboys won 2-1.

High-flying Bullnose Morris B crashed away at The Corner House 2-1 in Section 10, but they remain top of the table.
