GLYN Millard's hopes of landing the magical 18 dolls were dashed in the final leg as Fairview beat Quarry Gate 3-0 in Section 3, writes ANDY BEAL.

Millard clanged off sixes in his first two throws, but could then only manage a two in the final leg.

Teammate Alan Gardiner chipped in with 11 dolls as Fairview won 20-14, 25-16, 21-12.

Cricketers are Premier Section champions after beating Kings Arms 3-0.

Philip Adams threw a steady 5-5-5 as they took all three legs 25-19, 30-20, 29-19.

Kevin Giles was in tremendous form as he clanged off 6-5-5 for George A as they beat Woodman 3-0.

Steve Walton chipped in with 13 dolls (5-4-4) as they won all three legs 26-14, 26-13, 26-14.

Vikings B were crowned Section 3 winners, despite going down to their first defeat of the season to bottom-placed North Oxford Con Club.

Needing just one point for the title, they lost the opening leg 22-18, but secured the crown in the next leg, winning it 19-18.

However, North Oxford claimed victory, winning the final leg 22-16.

The Section 1 title is still up for grabs, but Three Pigeons are now clear favourites after defeating New Club 2-1.

They won the opening leg 27-21, but lost the next 23-21.

Pigeons then set 28 in the final leg, with New Club only able to reply with 23.

New Club's Adrian Shepherd top scored with 13 dolls (5-5-3).

The top-two clashed in Section 2, and it was leaders Black Swan who came out on top, beating the Royal Sun 2-1.

First blood went to Sun 20-19, but Swan stormed back to win 28-19, 21-14 in the final two legs.

Cowley Workers have one hand on the Section 4 title after a comfortable 3-0 home win against the Chequers, easing home 19-11, 16-14, 20-15.

Second-placed Red Lion Eynsham overcame a shocking second leg to beat Quarry Gate 2-1.

Red Lion won the first leg 19-17, but fell dramatically in the next, losing 23-13.

But they recovered well to take the decider 24-22. Mark Revill was their top dog with 11 dolls, while Quarry Gate's Phil Hounslow whipped of a dozen dolls (2-5-5).

Masons' Paul Sawyer was in top form as he clanged off 15 dolls (5-5-5) to guide them to a 3-0 win over Golden Ball.

Only five points separate the top seven teams in Section 5, while the Red Cow remain one point clear in Section 7 after beating the Crown 3-0.

Jolly Postbags took a big step towards the Section 8 title after seeing off nearest rivals The Black Horse 3-0.

Northway and the Plough, Bicester are still level on points at the top of Section 10.

ANY teams still holding cups from last season should return them to Keith Alder as soon as possble.
