Oxfordshire's two sides fell at the first hurdle in the Men’s National Fours Championship at Worthing.

Banbury Borough’s Andrew Buttress, George Moon, Greg Moon and Mark Sykes went down 21-14 to Barry Kitto, Kieran Murray, Robbie Coleman and Alex Walton (Brampton Institute, Hunts).

And Bicester’s Robert Pink, John Thompson, Martin Workman and Paul Hooley lost 25-13 to Richard White, Ian Clark, Gary Morris and Mick Asplen (Burton House, Lincs).

Headington’s Colin Whitehead reached the quarter-finals of the National 55 & Over Pairs Championship.

Representing Bucks with Wexham’s John Whitehead, he lost 31-22 to Dorset’s Barry Patterson and David Ralph.
