Headington A consolidated their position at the top of Division 1 of the Oxford & District League, sponsored by Yarnton Nurseries, with their fifth full house of the season in a 6-0 win over bottom club Bicester.

Craig Nicoll’s rink led the way for the reigning champions with a 31-18 win.

Carterton kept up their challenge with a 5-1 home win over Witney Mills.

Banbury Central A recovered from a slow start to post a 4-2 home win over Oxford City & County A.

Mike Andrew’s four, with Under 25s captain Lee Wilkinson at lead, carried the day with a crushing 30-13 victory.

Brian Neal’s rink chalked up a 35-18 victory as Banbury Chestnuts stayed top of Division 2 with a 4-2 home win against West Witney.

Barry Lambourne’s four led the way with a 29-10 triumph in Shiplake’s 4-2 success at Woodstock.

Closest game of the day was at Oxford City & County B, who pipped South Oxford A 31/2-21/2 after they finished 76-76 on shots.

South took the honours by winning on two rinks.

It remains very tight at the top of Division 3 with Blackbird Leys now heading Thame on shots difference only.

The Blackbirds won 4-2 at Bloxham, while Thame were pipped 4-2 at West Oxford.

Bottom club Headington B beat Rover 6-0 to move within three points of safety.

Captain Martin Kershaw led his rink to a 30-7 victory, the biggest of the day.
