BRADLEY Smith says he wants to be leading the MotoE World Cup after tomorrow’s race in Austria.

The Forest Hill rider heads into the second round of the electric series five points adrift of Niki Tuuli, who won the opener in Germany last month.

With it being only a six-race championship, Smith, who rides for One Energy Racing, knows the importance of building on his second-place finish at the Sachsenring.

And the 28-year-old is confident of challenging for the top step of the podium at the Red Bull Ring, Spielberg.

Smith said: “The goal for this weekend is to continue from where we left off.

“We must prevent our rivals from breaking away in the standings, since there are not too many races in the MotoE World Cup.

“We will try to emerge from round two as the series leaders.”

Meanwhile, Chipping Norton’s Alice Powell heads to Brands Hatch this weekend for the W Series finale.

She still has a shot at finishing third in the championship, but trails Marta Garcia by 11 points.

Elsewhere, Oxfordshire’s Tom Williams finished tenth at the Finland round of the FIA Junior World Rally Championship, bouncing back from a cracked sump and rolling his car.
