BERINSFIELD’S John Boal booked his place in the Off The Spot singles final after knocking out reigning champion Alan Oliver, writes PETE EWINS.
Played at Gladiators Club, Oliver, from Vikings, won the first leg of the Oxford & District League competition by 840 points.
Boal hit back to level, scoring 6,970 in the second frame, including a winning break of 6,810 to secure an aggregate victory.
He will play Richard Garrett in the final.
Reigning pairs champions Mark Trafford and Ian Gordon won 3-0 in their semi-final match against Vikings duo Allan Lacey and Mike Jones.
Frame scores of 7,390-2,360, 14,410-380, 9,140-4,930 sees the Oracle men set up a clash with Oliver and Ian Moss in the final.
