JEEVIKA Tiakraj played a starring role as Oxfordshire Under 14s produced a superb performance to earn an 11-9 win at Warwickshire 2nd in the Shires League.

The side were missing their top three boys, but were still able to come out on top.

Tiakraj led the way as she went undefeated in her four games, while Anthony Peverell picked up a vital point in the doubles despite suffering an injury during one of his singles matches.

Jack Needell, Freddie Driver, Ryan Tao, Zoe Soonawalla, Rachel Wang and Lydia Feshe were also in the Oxon team.

Elsewhere, there were a number of strong performances at tournaments across the country.

Adam Burden won two medals at the Warwickshire U15 silver competition in Birmingham, taking silver in the mixed doubles and bronze in the boys’ doubles.

There was also success for Albie Marriott and Matthew Dunn, who clinched bronze in the boys’ doubles at the Northants U17 Bronze event in Kettering.

Christian Mitchell left the Nottinghamshire U19 Gold tournament with a medal, taking bronze in the boys’ doubles.
