JACOB Oliver defied the testing conditions to land his first victory in the final round of Yarnton & District AC’s Winter League at Tunnel Barn Farm, Warwickshire.
With clear water and ice, big weights looked doubtful, but he proved the man to beat.
Oliver was a clear winner as he caught steadily off dobbing bread and fishing expander over micros, netting ten F1s for a weight of 26lb 12oz 0drms.
Nick Paxton was second with 9.3.0 and Matt Snape third with 8.10.0.
Steve Johnson landed the overall league title with 56 points.
He finished fourth in the final round, edging out Jamie Godfrey by two points in the final standings.
William Burnell had a memorable day at the Marston AC’s FTB Christmas Match on the River Thames at Donnington.
He landed a 3.4.8 roach as he finished second with 47.8.8 overall.
Antony Tomkins triumphed with a net of bream and skimmers on groundbait feeder and worm for 58.11.0.
Graham Bradshaw was third with 31.10.0.
