Horspath Hammers racer Rachel Edge made home advantage count to win the British Under 16 Girls' Championship.
Recovering from a disastrous first ride at the rain-soaked village track - which virtually put her out of the women's championship - Edge stormed back to take the title by one point.
Edge clipped the defending champion and arch rival Lucy Whitehead's wheel, leaving her in last place.
But three strong rides in the muddy conditions produced a hat-trick of victories before a second place behind the new women's champion Jessica Lamb, of Poole, gave Edge fourth place on 16 points and the under 16 title by a point.
Meanwhile, Horspath have a strong representation in the British Individual Riders' Championships in Suffolk this weekend.
Seven Hammers riders will be in action - including Mark Boaler, Steve Harris and Lewis Osborne, who made the final last year.
Harris will be looking to equal the record number of final apppearances, which stands at 18.
Joining this trio are Welsh skipper Danny Harper, Shaun Rudman, Chris Osborne and Rob Hunt.
They will be racing at Somersham, Great Blakenham and Kesgrave on Saturday and Sunday, with the final at Ipswich on Bank Holiday Monday.
Edge will also be competing in the Under 16 Championship semi-final at Kesgrave on Sunday, having won the girls' event last week.
