Oxfordshire's Olympic rowers return to the scene of their London 2012 success today for the World Cup meeting at Eton Dorney.

The main racing gets under way with heats from 10.24am, with semi-finals and repe-chages tomorrow and finals on Sunday.

Oxon oarsmen and women form a significant part of Britain’s crews for the year’s second World Cup regatta as they did at London 2012.

Andy Triggs Hodge, from Oxford, and fellow Oxford Blue Pete Reed spearhead Britain’s eight.

Henley’s Alex Gregory, who was part of the Olympic gold-medal winning men’s four, was also named in the eight, but misses out through illness.

The crew also includes Olympic bronze medallist, Henley’s Will Satch, plus Tom Ransley, Dan Ritchie and cox Phelan Hill from the town’s Leander Club.

London 2012 silver medallists and Oxford Brookes alumni, brothers Richard and Peter Chambers, are paired in the lightweight men’s double scull.

Karl Hudspith, Oxford University’s victorious Boat Race president, is selected in one of three heavyweight men’s pairs.

Another Brookes duo, Scott Durant and Matthew Tarrant, are named in the four.

Among the women, Oxford’s Olivia Carnegie-Brown was originally selected in the eight, but with no event now available for that boat, there has been a reshuffle.

Carnegie-Brown instead races with Jess Eddie in Britain’s third women’s pair.

Former Headington School pupil Katie Greves goes in pair two with fellow Leander Club member Louis Reeve.

Two-time Olympic silver medallist Fran Houghton, from Wheatley, will race in the double scull.

Wallingford RC’s Brianna Stubbs, from Headington, and Eleanor Piggott team up in a lightweight double scull.

RADLEY College and St Edward’s School, Oxford, boosted their chances of avoiding a qualification race for the Henley Royal Regatta with strong displays at Marlow.

Both finished second in their respective six-crew intermediate 1 eights finals on Saturday – Radley to Eton and St Edward’s to Hampton. The Radley crew also reached the senior eights final, but withdrew with an injury.

Consolation came on Sunday when they won the intermediate 1 eights.

The Radley J15 crew came second in their event.

Oxford Brookes had a trio of top-three finishes in the eights.

Wallingford gained three wins and three seconds, the bulk coming from their veteran members.
