OXFORD City Stars head coach Simon Anderson has got his man after Josh Oliver agreed to re-sign for his hometown club.

The forward has scored 50 goals in the last two seasons making him a prize asset.

Anderson had made securing Oliver’s signature his top priority and was delighted the player wanted to stay.

“Signing Josh was the deal I desperately wanted to get done,” he said.

“For me, Josh is someone who would be coveted by every team in this league.

“In my opinion, he should be playing at a higher level. He has everything – he is a strong skater, has great hands, can play-make, score goals and has a gritty side, which I like.

“It is a big season for Josh and I’m looking forward to challenging him to improve even further.”

The player said he never really contemplated going elsewhere.

“Oxford is the only club I’m interested in,” he said.

“I am always glad to get a call and return to Oxford each season. Being local and playing here since I started – it’s the only club. I’m looking forward to getting back on the ice with the boys and getting the season under way.”
