OXFORD City Stars face a “make or break weekend” with a home double-header as the club’s title challenge hots up.
And acting head coach Lee Richardson appealed for fans to get to Oxpens and get behind the team for the two crunch fixtures.
Stars have won ten games in a row to stay in the hunt for the English National League South Division 2 title.
Despite not playing last weekend, they remain fourth in the table, but within reach of top spot with games in hand.
Stars host third-placed Solent Devils today (5.15pm) and Haringey Huskies tomorrow (6.15pm) at Oxpens.
And Richardson says it is impossible to get away from the importance of the games.
“The support means so much to us and makes such a difference,” he said.
“Skating out to a packed Oxpens and hearing the crowd really gives us a lift.
“We really appreciate it and we really need to all be together this weekend.
“This is a bit of a make or break time for us in terms of keeping the league in our own hands.
“There’s a long way to go but to keep our destiny in our control we need another maximum points weekend.
“We had a break last weekend and have trained really heard.
“The boys are pumped and really up for it.”
