OXFORD City Stars captain Darren Elliott has been ruled out for ten weeks.
The results of a scan on his left knee, injured in the game against Slough a fortnight ago, revealed a torn ACL.
It is a blow to Stars, but director, James Lodge, said: “The good news it is not career-threatening.
“Darren will work hard to get back.
“He is integral to the club and he will be around adding his influence from the bench”
Elliott said: “I’m absolutely gutted to be missing games. I had just got into form and the team are playing well.
“But I have to focus on my recovery programme and supporting the boys.
“The club have been brilliant to me. I couldn’t have asked for more support.”
