GREIG Box Turnbull has joined Oxford City Stars’ board, six weeks after stepping down as managing director at Oxford United.
The former Daily Mirror journalist is in the process of setting up his own business following 12 months with the U’s.
His appointment at Oxpens comes hot on the heels of local businessman James Lodge becoming a director.
Box Turnbull said: “The vision and ambition of the board is infectious and I’m looking forward to helping support the club’s growth.
“I started out as a journalist reporting on Bracknell Hornets matches and watched the Bees years ago, and I’ve attended Stars matches since the Oxfordshire United partnership was formed.
“I’m passionate about Oxford, the community, business, and sport, so this position with the Stars is an ideal fit for me.”
Fellow board member Russell Shrives said: “This is a fantastic appointment for the Stars, not only with Greig’s experience and contacts but also as an endorsement of the work we’re doing here in Oxford.
“We’re passionate about growing sports via the community, and Greig shares that vision with us.”
