SIMON Anderson has left his role as Oxford City Stars head coach.

A statement from the ice hockey club said they have ‘amicably decided to part ways after the restructuring of the NIHL’.

Anderson led Stars to fourth-placed finishes in each of the last two seasons, and said: “It’s a sad day for me.

“I have enjoyed every second of the last three seasons I have been here.

“I am extremely proud of what the club has achieved.”

Stars director Russell Shrives added: “It’s been a pleasure to deal with Simon.

“His professionalism stands out on and off the ice and his club comes first attitude has been second to none.”
