OXFORD City's league season is expected to start on October 3.
Several clubs made the announcement after being contacted by the National League, whose play-off finals will be held this weekend.
Torquay and Stockport, amongst others, released statements on Monday confirming the date, which is subject to FA approval.
City are preparing for another season in the National League South and although October 3 is three weeks after the planned return of the Premier League and English Football League, it will have one big benefit.
With the government intending to allow crowds back into grounds, albeit at a reduced capacity, from October 1, it would mean no games were played behind closed doors.
The home and away season is due to end on Saturday May 29, with the play-offs to follow in June.
The decision was reached at a National League board meeting on Friday.
