OXFORD City produced a superb display to secure back-to-back Vanarama National League South wins.
A 2-0 triumph at Dorking Wanderers last night saw them climb to 15th.
Despite dominating the opening period, City were unable to find a breakthrough.
Finn Tapp twice went close, firing wide and then seeing a header cleared off the line.
Zac McEachran was also denied just before half-time, before two minutes into the second period the visitors went ahead.
Elliot Benyon was fouled in the box and Nana Owusu converted from the spot.
The same player made it 2-0 on 56 minutes when City broke quickly and the striker curled a superb effort over the goalkeeper and in off the bar.
Dorking tried to find a way back into the game, but City’s defence stood firm to secure a gritty win.
Banbury United bowed out of the Buildbase FA Trophy after losing 2-1 at home to AFC Rushden & Diamonds in their first round replay.
Mike Ford’s side took a
first-half lead when Janaai Gordon headed home ten minutes before the break.
But the visitors levelled through Tom Lorraine on the hour, before securing victory when Jordan Macleod netted seven minutes from time.
