EDDIE Pepperell shot a one-under-par 71 in the final round of the Masters at Augusta.
The Oxfordshire golfer, who managed to sneak into the latter stages after a nervous wait on Friday evening, finished on two-over for the tournament and in a share of 51st place.
Pepperell needed two birdies in his final four holes to make the cut, but still had to wait for an hour to have his place confirmed – he was ultimately grateful the leaders dropped shots late on.
In his third round, the Frilford Heath member carded three birdies and three bogeys in a level-par 72.
Today, Pepperell dropped a shot at his second hole, the 11th, and although he birdied the 15th, a double bogey at the next saw him drop down the leaderboard.
However, birdies at the first, second, sixth and seventh holes – with a bogey on the fifth – saw him recover well to secure a round of 71.
