FORMER Oxford United footballer Steve Jenkins and Will Clarke, representing Studley Wood, have qualified for the finals of the Daily Mail Foursomes from an original entry of more than 150,000.

Jenkins, who plays off four, and ten-handicapper Clarke are among the last 16 pairs to play in the final at St Pierre, Chepstow from October 8-10.

There were three holes-in-one at North Oxford during the week.

Brian Steele aced 133-yard 11th hole with an eight iron, while John Mackenzie followed suit at the 156-yard second with a five wood.

Scott Willoughby completed the set by holing in one at the 198-yard fourth hole with a four iron.

Geoff Coppock’s 442 team,including Colin Rosser and Mike and Luke Rippington, won the Five Star Events’ Barry Yates Cup at Studley Wood with 90 points.

In second place were the Mitchell Mob on 85, on countback from Cube21, led by Martin Southey.

The15 teams competing raised £2,000 for the Five Star Charity, See-Saw.
