OXFORD United Under 16s reached the semi-final of the Girls’ FA Youth Cup after a thrilling penalty shoot-out victory over Everton.
The youngsters triumphed 4-3 on spot-kicks to ensure they have now gone further in the competition than any other U’s side.
Carly Johns scored for the home side as the teams finished level at 1-1, with penalties needed to decide the winner.

United now face either Leicester City or Arsenal in the semi-final at Oxford Brookes University’s Harcourt Hill Campus on Saturday, March 9.
The other clash sees Chelsea meet Manchester United.
Head Coach Vlad Cintic said: “To be in the last four of the FA Youth Cup with such high company is flattering and rewarding.
“They are a very special group of players.”
