LUKE Cuff scored a hat-trick as Chequers came from behind to beat Village Inn 5-2 to win the Sam Waters Sunday Cup.

Jack Hinkin headed Village Inn ahead in the Oxfordshire FA competition at Oxford City’s Court Place Farm.

But Dean Boyles equalised on the stroke of half-time.

Carly Bloomfield then made it 2-1 to Chequers, but they were not ahead for long.

Sam Gordon handled in the penalty area and Village’s Harvey Moore stepped up to score from the spot and level the tie.

Chequers’ quality eventually came to the fore, though, and they raced to victory, thanks to Cuff’s hat-trick.

The side’s first team also had a shot at reaching the Oxford City FA’s Premier Cup final.

And they beat Great Milton 8-2 after extra-time.

Jason Fletcher’s strike and an own goal put hosts Milton 2-0 up.

But Chequers drew level, before booking their place in the final after normal time.

Jamie McCuaig scored a hat-trick, with Jelroy Constant (2), Ryan Macer, Chris Haynes and Tobias Webster also finding the back of the net.

In the Doug Hobbs Cup semi-finals, Oxford Leys beat Union Street 9-1, while Oxford Brookes University won 5-1 against South Park Rangers.
