SAXTON Rovers came from behind to claim all three points and keep their North Berks League Division 1 title hopes alive with a 2-1 victory over leaders Berinsfield in front of more than 100 spectators, writes RICHARD UNDERWOOD.

The home side went in front when Luke Holdsworth fired in.

After the break, Tom Stanley equalised, and with five minutes remaining, second-placed Saxton grabbed the winner as Niall Hodgkins headed home from ten yards.

East Hendred moved up to third after a 4-1 win over Steventon.

Their goals came from Ben Taylor, Tom Austin, Dan Timbrell and Mike Farrelly, while Steventon replied through Blake Latimer.

In Division 2, Watlington saw off leaders Saxton Rovers Res 3-1, thanks to Adam Holloway’s double.

Alex B’laychi scored their fourth goal, with Connor Spraggs replying.

Cholsey United moved up to second in Division 3 with a 1-0 win over Drayton, Steve Hawes netting a late winner.

Hagbourne United defeated Marcham 4-2, thanks to Dom Lovegrove’s brace and goals from Jamie Clark and Ben Drabble.

Marcham hit back through Kyle Dan and Josh Christopher.

In Division 4, Marcham Res beat Watlington Town Res 4-2 with Jamie Salter the star of the show with all four goals.

Darren Outten and Ashley Dixon were on target for the visitors.

In the North Berks League Charity Cup, Westminster booked their place in the last four with a 2-0 win at Long Wittenham.

Mike Hootton was on song to score both goals to secure his side a semi-final spot.
