Phillip John’s extra-time strike earned Didcot Town a 3-2 victory over Abingdon Town in their FA Cup preliminary round reply.

Abingdon looked in control after a first-half brace from Anaclet Odhiambo.

But John reduced the arrears in the second half and Josh Miller levelled with a 35-yard thunderbolt.

Odhiambo missed two great chances in extra-time before John won it on 98 minutes, handing Didcot a trip to Oxford City.

North Leigh survived a late scare to defeat Aylesbury United 4-2 and set up a trip to Leatherhead.

The Millers led 4-0, but ended the match hanging on.

Stuart Hole put North Leigh ahead with a 12th-minute free-kick and Michael Hopkins made it 2-0 with a looping header.

Andy McCabe punished a goalkeeping error for No 3, with Tom Franklin’s power header seeming to the settle it soon after the break.

But Aylesbury substitute Paul Edgeworth struck on 71 and 76 minutes to get home nerves racing.

The visitors hit the bar twice and Sam Warrell had to make two good saves late on.

Ardley United lost 2-1 at home to Wembley, while Thame United beat Newport Pagnell 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
