ANDY Ballard admits he is considering his future as a player following his red card last week.

The Didcot Town boss was sent off in the final minute of the 1-1 draw against Aylesbury in Division 1 Central of the Evo-Stik South League.

Seth Humphries was also dismissed, but Ballard says his own departure has given him food for thought.

“The sending-offs of Seth and myself certainly did not help our cause last weekend,” he said.

“For myself, it’s something I am going to need to have a good think about going forwards in terms of my involvement as a player.”

Play-off chasing Didcot will look to get back on track at Dunstable Town tomorrow, but must do so without the suspended trio of Learoyd, Humphries and Ballard.

David Murphy is on his honeymoon, while Pablo Haysham (knee) will face a fitness test, but Brett Gardner returns.

Ballard said: “We need to bounce back and produce a performance that we know we are capable of.

“We have some really big games coming up in March, and it’s getting really tight in and around the play-offs.”

Mark West is calling for a response when Thame United entertain Corby Town at the ASM Stadium.

Thame fell to a 3-0 defeat at AFC Dunstable last weekend, and the manager was not happy.

“The result was a bit flattering to Dunstable, but we gave away three poor goals,” he said.

“Dan (West) getting injured in the warm-up wasn’t ideal either.”

“Corby are a big, strong side and if we get anything out of the game we will be doing well, we’ve got nothing to lose really.”

Dan West faces a fitness test on a calf problem, but Aaron Jewell is ruled out with a similar injury.

Kidlington name an unchanged squad for their away tie at Yaxley, while bottom side North Leigh are without the suspended Harry Grant for their home match against Aylesbury United.
