BANBURY United scored five second-half goals in their 6-1 thrashing of Barwell on Saturday.

Mike Ford’s side turned on the style in their Evo-Stik South League Premier Central clash, moving to just two points off the play-off

places.

The Puritans took the lead on 19 minutes when Greg Kaziboni volleyed home.

But the visitors were soon level when Anthony Dwyer spectacularly netted.

Ravi Shamsi restored the lead on 53 minutes before Matt Taylor’s fine strike made it 3-1.

Giorgio Rasulo turned in a Shamsi cross for No 4 on 63 minutes, and six minutes later Shamsi grabbed his second.

An emphatic display was rounded off by substitute Steve Diggin nine minutes from time.

Thame United and Didcot Town both kept up their Division 1 Central play-off hopes with victories.

Thame edged past Cambridge City 1-0, thanks to a Dan West goal in the 26th minute.

Didcot picked up their first clean sheet in the league since September with a 2-0 success over AFC Dunstable.

Callum McNish was the two-goal hero, finding the net in the 56th and 61st minutes to keep the Railwaymen in fifth place, three points ahead of their nearest rivals.

Kidlington remain bottom after a 3-1 defeat at high-flying Corby Town.

Jordan Crawford gave the hosts the lead, before second-half strikes from Elliot Sandy and Sam Warburton made the game safe.

Anaclet Odhiambo pulled one back four minutes from time, but the damage had been done.

North Leigh stay above Kidlington on goal difference, despite losing 5-1 at leaders Peterborough Sports.

Lewis Hilliard, Dion Sembie-Ferris and Mark Jones put the hosts 3-0 ahead at the break.

Although George Seacole gave North Leigh hope with a goal on 64 minutes, late strikes from Josh Moreman and Abdouramane Sani sealed victory.
