BANBURY United threw away an early lead as they went down to a 3-1 home defeat against Chippenham in the Premier Division.
Keiran Sullivan's side went ahead when Ben Milner headed Lewis Travers's free-kick across goal for Wayne Blossom to sweep the ball home.
But Chippenham drew level in the 15th minute when Jake Reid hit a fierce angled drive that hit Banbury keeper Andy Wheeler before bouncing into an empty net.
Almost immediately, though the Bluebirds took the lead when Aaron Cornwall touched the ball into the corner of the net from close range.
Banbury went close to equalising in the 40th minute when Stuart Bridges' free-kick beat the wall only to be tipped on to a post by Chippenham keeper Chris Snoddy.
Milner gave away a needless penalty in the 64th minute that Kye Holly converted.
There was still drama to come late on, when Banbury were awarded a penalty when Blossom was struck in the face by Ross Adams.
However, Blossom's spot-kick was saved.
