A DOUBLE from Cholsey United’s Phil Hedges and a Jamie Newport strike was enough to give their side the Division 2 title after a 3-1 play-off victory over Yellow Eagles, writes TIM SIRET.
Eagles midfielder Danny Morgan threw himself in front of a Hedges shot early on to stop a certain goal after Cholsey started well.
However, it didn’t take long for Hedges to make the breakthrough, firing home into the bottom corner.
David Phillips almost equalised, but his shot was saved.
Cholsey dominated after the break, Hedges scoring his second after Paolo Di Pasquale’s shot was saved.
Hedges then turned provider for Newport to grab the third, and although Lee Rendell pulled one back, Cholsey comfortably held on.
