CRITCHLEY’S UPPER THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE

Cholsey United’s 21-game unbeaten run was shattered with a 4-3 defeat at Rutherford Lab in Division 2.

Cholsey were 3-1 up at the break, courtesy of a Matty Leach double and James Ham, John Hawkins having fired Rutherford ahead.

Hawkins smashed home his second and Kearan Russell levelled matters before Ian Redman grabbed the winner.

Saxton Pirates had two players sent off as they crashed 4-2 at Research Machines. Paul Brewerton saw red for handball and Sam Childs for foul and abusive language.

Lee Cook (2), Simon Collett and debutant Lewis Hastings netted for Machines, with Rob Andrews and Sam Childs replying.

Red Lion Islip only started with eight players at Didcot Casuals – but still pulled off a 4-2 win.

Having got up to strength, Red Lion took the points with goals from brothers Andy and Mark White, Adam Wells and Gary O’Donovan.

Jamie Clark and Steve Hedges replied.
