UPPER THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE

Yellow Eagles came from behind to reach the quarter-finals of the Ridgeway Cup with a 3-1 win away to Division 3A rivals King & Queen Wheatley, writes TIM SIRET.

After the hosts had taken the lead, Eagles rallied when both Ben Crawford and Ricky Goodenough headed home from free-kicks, while Ryan Simpson set up Lee Rendell for their third.

Kings Arms Wheatley moved into second spot in the Premier Division with a 4-0 home success over Dorchester United.

Sam Webb smashed a double, with brothers Luke and Benji Cuff completing the scoring.

Paul Hedges hit a four-timer as Masons Arms put pressure on Division 1 leaders Kennington United with a 5-1 win at Kidlington Royals.

Bradley Fine completed an easy win, Royals replying with a 25-yarder from Daniel Barrett.

Simon Godfrey struck twice to help Chalgrove to a 3-0 win away to championship-chasing Cross Keys Wallingford. Matt Cook netted their other goal.

Tom Payne’s fine form continued as he cracked a treble for OUP Wanderers to help his side to an 8-2 win at Sutton Revolution.

Ollie Burrows (2), Damien Dean, Luke Murphy and Sean Geaney completed the tally. Jamie Madge hit both Revolution’s goals.

AFC Jericho took an important step towards the Division 2 title with a 2-1 success in their top-of the table clash at home to AFC Brightwell.

Akeem Williams put Jericho in front and although Nathan Gray scrambled an equaliser for the leaders, Daniel New struck a priceless late winner for Jericho.

Stuart Coppock grabbed a hat-trick to help Research Machines to a 6-0 win at Didcot Casuals.

Nathan Brown hit a brace, with Ben Steptoe finishing off the away win.

Doubles from Shon Dinn and Sekou Bangoura helped Oxford FC to a 5-4 home win over Wallingford Exiles.

Fama Mara was their other scorer, but Exiles were always in the game thanks to Sabri Veseli, Daniel Carter, James Evans and Dave Cheeseman.
