The Bell Grove caused a huge upset by knocking out favourites Saxton Rovers 5-4 on penalties in the Autotype UTV League's Devenney Cup semi-final after the tie finished 3-3 after extra time, writes TIM SIRET.

Keeper Craig Payne was Bell's hero with two saves in the spot-kick shoot-out.

Man-of-the-match Jason Maynard missed his penalty, but Dave Stebbings, Paul Jezzard, Johnny James, James Rose and Nick Walker, with the winning kick in sudden death, all scored.

A thrilling encounter had twice seen The Bell move to the brink of victory only to be denied by late equalisers.

Paul Freeman fired the underdogs ahead, but Kevin Secker soon levelled.

Jezzard restored the Bell's lead only for Garry Hartley to equalise two minutes from time.

Stebbings put the Bell in front for a third time in extra time, but Secker levelled in the last minute of extra time to set up the penalty shoot-out.

However, it was The Bell, who held their nerve and go forward to their first final where they await the winners of Robin Hood and The Goodlake Arms.
